Day One
This is a bit late in coming as it is really day 6 of a 10 day photography tour in Ireland but until now internet access has been spotty at best. I will also preface this to say I am certifiably nuts to do back to back photography tours and will never do so again. I had just come back from 5 days in the Chinle, Arizona and Monument Valley, Utah area and then off to Ireland. Too much too fast.
Being that as it may, day one in Ireland was a blur. Peter Cox, our guide and personal friend, sets an aggressive pace and from the greeting me at Shannon Airport until we all stopped (finally) at out hotel in Clifden, County Connemara, it was overwhelming for this jet-lagged soul.
I will admit that I am remiss in getting the place names for where we photographed, throughout the day and indeed the tour. Irish place names are difficult as Peter usually just says them in Irish and that's that. However, where ever he stops, it is always worth it, even if you don't know its name.
Editor's note: Tonight Peter sat down with us and gave us the place names!
So, without further ado, here are some images:
On Omey Island
The Hill of Doon on Lough Corrib
Aughrus Beg near Clegan
Now you see why place names are hard in Ireland!
